Past vs. Future

What is more important? You can’t say that the future is the most important for all of us. It depends on the person. For me, I think the past is the most important but the future is also quite important...
People often say: “The past repeats itself”. If that is true, the past would be more important for us because we can expect what is going to happen and prepare ourselves for it. But therefore, it would be less exciting if you already know what is going to happen.
A lot of things got discovered in the past, but without a doubt, I can say that this will also happen in the future. We, or scientists, haven’t discovered everything yet. Maybe there will be more information about where we, the human being, come from. Or if the evolution theory is right.  There is already pretty much evidence to show that the earth is older than the people who believe in a creator of the earth believe. Scientists have shown that the evolution began 8million years ago, the creationists believe the earth is only 4,000 years old. But who knows if scientists are always right?
I think in the future we’ll develop even more technology. Nowadays we have the iPad, iMac, Macbook, laptop, mobile phone and iPod. In the future this will be a product everyone has, and there are even more luxuries.
With the knowledge from the past, we can handle things which will happen in the future or are already happening. But we must not forget that some knowledge from the past might be outdated. So in fact the future will most likely be a place where we will see to the knowledge of the past combined with the possibilities of today.
Without a past, you don’t have enough knowledge to survive in the future. But there are new problems we will have to face in the future, which were not there yet in the past (or not that big), which means we don’t have all the knowledge yet.
By reading all those arguments, I change my mind and I think both are equal important.  I think that past and future are equally dependant on each other, no past without a future, because then why would we live? And no future without past, because where would we be without the inventions from the past?
